SALTO presented the new “Eco Guest Key Cards”.
Instead of using single-use plastic guest keycards, Salto customers now have the opportunity to switch to eco-friendly paper and wooden alternatives.

We were among the first to adopt new environmental initiatives that use more renewable resources and less paper, plastic, and fossil fuels in the access control industry,” – Aznar Sethna, Chief Sales and Marketing Officer at SALTO Systems.
Eco-friendly cards are just as durable as traditional plastic guest keys, but, unlike plastic, bamboo and wood are renewable and biodegradable resources that do not pollute the environment. The cards are completely made of recycled FSC-certified paper or wood, and therefore contain 0 plastic while maintaining 100% structural integrity. On top of that, they impress with their aesthetic appeal.
Just like the traditional plastic ones, the new SALTO keycards feature embedded high-quality NXP MIFARE Ultralight® C RFID chips, which are fully compatible with SALTO smart locks.
Currently, the new products are available in 4 different materials: bamboo, cherry, black walnut, as well as paper keycards, which, furthermore, can be branded with your logo. Therefore, there is no longer any excuse for using plastic!
